PRODUCTION LINES

CUTTING STEEL INTO PLATES

We offer rapid delivery of flat sheets in various thicknesses, including non–standard lengths. Our improved length and diagonal tolerances make these sheets ideal for laser cutting.

At Exterfer, we provide precision cutting services for a wide range of steel coils, including hot–rolled, cold–rolled, hot–dip galvanized, electrolytically galvanized, Magnelis®, and galvanized painted coils. Our flexibility allows us to cut these coils to any desired length.

At our facility, we operate two cutting lines. The first line handles thicknesses ranging from 0.8 mm to 6 mm, with a maximum tensile strength of 460 MPa. The second line is designed for thicknesses between 0.5 mm and 3 mm, with a maximum tensile strength of 600 MPa. Together, our processing capacity per month reaches a 3,000 metric tons per shift.

Our coil cutting lines boast precision 6-HI straighteners and top–down stackers. These advanced systems not only preserve the material surface but also yield flat plates free from internal tensions — perfect for laser cutting. And for an extra layer of surface protection, we offer the option to install a protective film upon request.

Our panels, which can reach lengths of up to 6,000 mm, are available in both standard and non-standard sizes. With our improved tolerances of lengths and diagonals (within +/-1 mm), you’ll receive precision–cut panels. Plus, thanks to our efficient production lines, we confidently guarantee a swift delivery.

Cutting perpendicular

Our cutting lines come equipped with an advanced control system that ensures the panels are cut with precise orthogonality. This attention to detail guarantees that your sheets meet the highest standards.

Flatness and stability

When it comes to the quality of cut sheets, two critical factors take centre stage: flatness and stability for subsequent processing. Ensuring that flat plates remain true during further steps —such as laser cutting— is essential. We address this by equipping our lines with dual–level straighteners featuring transverse rollers. These components not only enhance handling power but also eliminate any lingering internal stresses.

Sheet surface protection

When cutting sheets, maintaining their surface equal to that of the original coil is crucial, all while ensuring damage–free handling. Our lines handle this by positioning sheet metal vertically and providing support through airbags.
