Hot rolled strips are rolled at high temperatures of approximately 900°C, namely on the line for continuous rolling (tandem line). The entering material consists of sheet metal coils, more than 20 mm thick, which are preheated before the procedure. During the process the internal structure is homogenised and re-crystallized, which improves the mechanical characteristics of strips. Internal tensions, which can emerge in the sheet metal, are unwanted and are thermo-mechanically eliminated during the rolling process. Usually, the surface of the sheet metal is sufficiently clean and of great quality, therefore it can also be cut by a laser. Hot rolled strips are subsequently cut in plates and strips.
Sheet metal is very endurable and has superb mechanical characteristics. It can be used for various purposes: steel constructions, vessels, pressure tanks and heaters.
